New Clients
Before we undertake any assignment for you we will need to discuss your particular requirements including an outline of the work involved, special formatting instructions, and the timescale you envisage. We will also ask that you confirm your instructions in writing (an email will be fine).
Word Processing
We deal with all types of document including correspondence, memos, attendance notes, pleadings, deeds, agreements, wills, codicils, contracts, leases, and mail merge projects.
Spreadsheets
We prepare invoices, estate accounts, financial statements and suchlike using spreadsheets, entering the necessary formulas to perform any required calculations.
Document Formats
All documents and spreadsheets are created using Microsoft Office 2007 and Adobe Acrobat.
Adobe Acrobat
We can save documents using Adobe Acrobat’s pdf format. These files look exactly like the original and preserve source file information, text, colours, and photographs regardless of the application used to create them. They can be read on all systems using Adobe Reader.
Digital Transcription
Although DSS is probably the most popular recording format used, we also transcribe other file types including WAV, DSP Truespeech, MP3, and SRI.
Analogue Transcription
Facilities are available to transcribe analogue recordings including standard tapes, Grundig, micro and mini cassettes.
Transcription Time
One minute of audio dictation can take upwards of three minutes to transcribe. To this must be added the time required to read through and check for accuracy. Transcription time depends upon the recording quality, the dictation speed and clarity, and also the complexity of the subject matter.
Turnaround
Every effort will be made to assist clients on short notice, but unless an advance
booking is made work is generally carried out in strict rotation. This usually means
an approximate turnaround time of 24-
